Cirque du Soleil is coming to Bergamo: Check out the event at the ChorusLife Arena

Big news in Bergamo for all fans of great shows: in April, Cirque du Soleil will bring OVO to the stage, an extraordinary show that “promises” an immersion into the colorful world of insects.

The stage for the event will be the ChorusLife Arena, the beating heart of Bergamo’s ChorusLife smart district. A multifunctional, modern and innovative venue, designed to host concerts, shows and international events, with a capacity that can reach 6,000 spectators.

The arrival of one of the most spectacular shows in the world in Bergamo highlights two key points.

The first is the city’s increasingly prominent role in the international events scene, capable of attracting major artistic productions and audiences from all over Italy. The second is the growing importance of the ChorusLife Arena, set to become one of the key venues for major events in the area.

In this article, we cover everything you need to know about Cirque du Soleil in Bergamo: from the schedule to the show’s duration, tickets, access to the ChorusLife Arena, and the services available to the public.

Cirque du Soleil: a world-class entertainment excellence

The Cirque du Soleil is a renowned Canadian company founded in 1984 in Montréal, thanks to the vision of a group of street artists led by Guy Laliberté, a decidedly forward-thinking entrepreneur.

Year after year, this company has literally revolutionized the way live performance is conceived, creating productions that combine theater, dance, music and acrobatic performance.

Each show is in fact built as a true visual story that combines top-level acts, unique choreography, live music, spectacular set design and rich, colorful costumes.

The shows never feature animals, but are built exclusively around the artists’ talent, creativity and storytelling.

The result is an experience that fully engages the spectator and turns the show into a profound and magical emotional journey and a genuine international phenomenon.

Today Cirque du Soleil runs tours in numerous cities, bringing ever-new and technically astonishing shows. Among the most famous, which cemented its lasting success, are:

  • Alegría: staged between 1994 and 2013 (a tour of nearly twenty years), it became one of the most beloved shows of all time. It combines spectacular acrobatics, evocative set design, theatrical performances and a soundtrack that has become iconic. To celebrate the show’s twenty-fifth anniversary, a new version titled Alegría: In a New Light was presented in 2019, featuring new sets, choreography and musical arrangements;
  • Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities: set in a fantastical steampunk universe in an alternate past, it’s a theatrical and acrobatic show that explores imagination to upend reality;
  • KOOZA: an internationally acclaimed show that combines acrobatics and clowning, telling an emotional journey of self-discovery. The colorful, surreal atmosphere is enriched by live music, evocative set design and spectacular costumes.

These shows have also become famous, above all, for the talent of the performers on stage: aerial acrobats, contortionists, trapeze artists, tightrope walkers, jugglers, clowns, dancers, physical actors, musicians and singers.

Depending on the show, specialists in highly technical disciplines also take center stage, such as the high wire, the wheel of death, Chinese pole, teeterboard, aerial straps or other forms of collective acrobatics.

Their work doesn’t just involve performing a difficult act: they must also embody a character, live within an atmosphere and interact with the music, the lighting and the dramatic rhythm of the show.

This shows how Cirque du Soleil works on several levels at once. It doesn’t just ask you to admire a show, but invites you to step into a parallel reality built with almost artisanal precision and global theatrical ambition.

OVO, the Cirque du Soleil show at the ChorusLife Arena

From April 9 to 12, 2026, Cirque du Soleil will perform at the ChorusLife Arena with the show OVO, in a new and renewed version.

The production involves a crew of about 100 people from 25 countries, including 53 artists and musicians who will perform spectacular acrobatic acts, choreography and top-level performances.

All of this is accompanied by immersive, technologically advanced set design, engaging music and a strong emotional connection between stage and audience.

First presented in Montréal in 2009 and after winning over millions of spectators worldwide over the years, OVO finally arrives in Bergamo.
