MediaWorld Opens ChorusLife: The New Smart Store in the Heart of Bergamo

MediaWorld arrives in the city of Bergamo for the first time with a new Smart store inside ChorusLife.

The opening, dated 22 July 2026, marks a return with strong symbolic value: it was right in the Bergamo area, in Curno, that the Experience Champion of consumer electronics opened its first Italian store back in 1991.

So, 35 years later, MediaWorld renews its bond with the area through a more agile, tech-forward and omnichannel format. A store designed to fit into urban settings and offer products, advice, assistance and personalised services.

The new MediaWorld Smart format: what you’ll find in store

The new MediaWorld in Bergamo is located at Via Carlo Serassi 26, inside the ChorusLife smart district, just a few minutes from the city centre.

It covers an area of around 300 square metres, featuring a curated selection of products from the main consumer electronics categories, including:

  • smartphones and mobile devices;
  • computers and IT products;
  • tech accessories;
  • small and large home appliances;
  • entertainment and everyday-life solutions.

It has a team of six staff members on hand to help customers choose, set up and use devices.

It offers a Smart format, designed to provide, within a compact space, an innovative shopping experience integrated with digital channels.

Besides the range physically available in store, customers can also use the Infinite Shelf: a station where the entire catalogue available on MediaWorld.it can be browsed and purchased. Customers can also access the offering through the website, app and digital displays present in the store.

Thanks to this connection between physical space, technology and online channels, the store’s more compact size doesn’t limit choice or the different shopping needs of customers.

Smartbar: setup, personalisation and repair

One of the distinctive features of the new MediaWorld Smart format inside ChorusLife is the Smartbar.

This is a space dedicated to services and assistance, where customers can:

  • buy products that are already set up and ready to use;
  • request device personalisation;
  • receive professional support.

An express repair service for mobile phones and smartphones is also available, even for devices bought at other stores.

The Smartbar therefore turns the simple store into a space where, beyond the products, customers can find complete solutions.

Omnichannel services

The new MediaWorld Smart at ChorusLife offers several omnichannel services.

One of the main ones is the Pick Up service, which lets customers order a product through digital channels and collect it for free in store, in some cases within 30 minutes.

The Pick&Pay service, on the other hand, lets customers book an item online and pay for it at the time of collection directly in the department, using the mobile devices carried by staff.

A store designed with sustainability in mind

The new MediaWorld in Bergamo has been fitted out with sustainability in mind, in line with the company’s energy consumption reduction policy.

The store’s lighting is entirely LED, while the energy used comes 100% from renewable sources.

So the attention to detail doesn’t just cover the range of technology and services on offer, but also the way the store is run on a day-to-day basis. Energy efficiency, digitalisation of processes and integration between physical and online channels all help create a greener, more responsible business model.

A choice that’s consistent with ChorusLife’s identity, an urban smart district designed around sustainability, innovation and quality of spaces.

A return to its roots: 35 years after Curno

The opening of the MediaWorld store at ChorusLife holds special meaning for the company. Its Italian history actually began right in the province of Bergamo in 1991, with the opening of its first store in Curno.

The company’s relationship with the Bergamo area then grew stronger over time, up until MediaWorld’s Italian headquarters moved from Curno to Verano Brianza in 2018.

The new Smart store therefore represents both a return to its origins and, at the same time, an evolution of the traditional retail model.

The words of Emanuele Cosimelli, CEO of MediaWorld, confirm this dual meaning.

“Bergamo is a key area for MediaWorld. It’s where our story in Italy began and, 35 years after the opening of our first store in Curno, the new Smart store represents a natural evolution of our journey. We keep investing in formats capable of adapting to different settings and integrating physical presence, services and digital channels, with the aim of getting ever closer to our customers and supporting them at every stage of their experience with technology.”

The opening ceremony was also attended by Bergamo’s deputy mayor Sergio Gandi, who highlighted how the opening confirms the city’s ability to attract investment and major players, strengthening the local economy and enhancing the value of a strategic area.

MediaWorld among ChorusLife district’s 2026 new openings

The arrival of MediaWorld further expands ChorusLife’s range of stores and fits with the district’s innovative, tech-driven vocation.

Here too, we share the words of Francesco Percassi, CEO of Chorus Life S.p.A., confirming the above.

“The arrival of the city’s first MediaWorld store enriches ChorusLife’s offering with an innovative format and marks the start of a new season of major openings that will run through to autumn,”

Among the new openings planned over the coming months are:

  • a Mondadori bookshop: an by-now-iconic space dedicated to books, culture and entertainment, designed for readers of all ages;
  • a barber shop by Maxxory: a contemporary, upscale barbershop with premium services and a refined style — an exclusive experience dedicated to grooming, wellbeing and the image of the modern man;
  • a space dedicated to yoga and pilates: a place for mindful movement and physical and mental wellbeing;
  • La Città del Mattoncino: a store specialising in the world of LEGO, designed for enthusiasts, collectors and families.

These brands will help make ChorusLife’s offering even more varied, increasing the services available to citizens, residents and visitors alike.
